The Oregon Convention Center has a history of being progressive in its business practices, dedication to sustainability, and customer service. As the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, it is our mission to keep our customers, guests and attendees informed and confident in the quality of our services.
The upcoming year holds exciting developments in and around the OCC.
On Thursday, Aug. 30 we will conclude our first free summer concert series, Plaza Palooza, with a performance by Oregon's perennial favorite, Quarterflash. The concert series presented us with the perfect use for our beautiful new OCC Plaza and featured a great line-up of local talent along with excellent food and beverages.
The Eastside Streetcar Loop Project will open for riders on Sept. 22, 2012, with a stop just outside OCC on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. OCC will also continue its commitment to sustainability by working toward recertifying LEED-EB status at the Gold level in 2013. This fall, we are undergoing a major lighting retrofit in our event spaces that will significantly reduce energy expenses. Additionally, OCC will introduce front of the house composting in the coming year and strive to increase our overall diversion rate from 70 percent to 75 percent.
We do hope you have the chance to pay us a visit soon. There is certain to be an upcoming event that you'll be interested in attending as our schedule offers something for just about everyone.
I promise that we'll make you feel welcome!
