Olivia Lofstedt, Event Manager at the Oregon Convention Center (OCC), has been recognized by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) in its prestigious 30|UNDER|30 Class of 2019. Each year, IAVM selects the best and brightest emerging leaders in venue management to join the 30|UNDER|30 program, and to work together over the next year to accelerate the venue industry.
Known for her drive and hard-working spirit, Lofstedt is instrumental in managing large-scale events and providing a first-class client experience. The largest event she manages is Rose City Comic Con, which attracts more than 55,000 people to the OCC in one weekend. Lofstedt has seamlessly adapted and led clients throughout change during the Convention Center’s massive $39 million renovation without missing a beat.
Lofstedt is honored to join IAVM’s 30|Under|30 Class of 2019 and excited for the opportunity to work with and learn from other passionate venue professionals. "IAVM has given me the opportunity to meet many inspiring peers and learn more about the venue industry," says Lofstedt.
"We're all extremely proud of Olivia. Acceptance under this year's 30|UNDER|30 program involved a rigorous application process against 86 applicants, so she has absolutely earned this honor," says Erin Jepson, OCC's Director of Events and Guest Services. "Participation in this program will offer her greater industry access and exposure, and I'm sure she'll bring back some great ideas to help our team stay on the leading edge of the industry."
The Class of 2019 will convene for the first time at IAVM’s VenueConnect Annual Conference and Trade Show in Chicago, Sunday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 24.
"The chance to talk to other passionate young professionals, share our experiences and discuss what the future of the venue industry looks like to us is something I'm really looking forward to," says Lofstedt.
