Every other Friday for the past year, pacificwild's assistant general manager Lindsay Pearson has made meal deliveries to residents in Portland’s Belmont neighborhood on behalf of Meals on Wheels People. She has also recruited a good number of pacificwild and OCC teammates to join her in this great cause!
Lindsay says the staff volunteers have truly enjoyed getting to know a lot of amazing people and many lasting relationships have been formed because of this. "We all feel passionately about the Meals on Wheels mission to ensure no senior goes hungry or experiences social isolation in our community."
Recently members of the pacificwild team took these efforts a step further and worked two shifts at the Meals on Wheels People facility, where food is prepared for 5,000 residents in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties every day. On September 18th, the volunteer crew rolled up their sleeves, donned the requisite hair and beard nets, and proceeded to make 71 pans of bread pudding and enough pizza to feed a small army.
"As a team we're always looking for new opportunities to help and support our community," says Lindsay. "It’s just another way to show how we're Living Our Go!"
