Oregon Convention Center (OCC) is honored to receive a 2019 Stella Award for Best Convention Center. OCC took the Bronze award in the Far West category (which includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming) for a regional, standalone facility.
The Stella Awards recognize hotels, convention centers, conference centers, airlines, cruise lines, DMO/CVBs, and DMCs that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meeting and events professionals. Honors are awarded in 18 categories celebrating overall excellence, superb food and beverage, professionalism of staff, technology innovations, and other critical aspects of the meetings and event experience.
Finalists in each category were determined by industry professionals during an open voting period, while winners were selected by an expert panel of judges overseen by the editors of Northstar Meetings Group's leading brands, Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings.
Northstar Meetings Group will publish a special supplement announcing all of this year’s Stella Award winners that will be distributed with the November 2019 issues of Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings.
Nestled in the heart of Portland, the OCC is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest offering people a place to gather, invent, and celebrate. OCC recently completed a $40M renovation project, which at the time made Oregon history as the largest public contract awarded to a minority-owned business as the prime contractor. A proven industry leader in sustainability, OCC is one of two LEED Platinum certified convention centers in the nation and the first convention center to implement a waste diversion policy.
